What Made Growing Up In The 80's So Great?
Today, I felt like taking a trip back to a very special time in my life. A time where time had no real meaning to me at all. A time before deadlines, a time where every day was a new adventure! A time where adventure and excitement were encapsulated inside a brand new toy! Here is a list of my top 7 toys ever, in no particular order.
1. G.I. Joe – Perhaps the coolest of all toys ever created! G.I. Joe was every little boys dream come true! They had action figures, bases, tanks, planes, and the coolest bad guys around! Even when you were tired of playing with them, you could blow them up, for some real war action! My friend Clint, who Sean will remember, if he ever comes back, had an entire basement full of Joes! The were all organized into an epic, basement wide, battle!

2. Transformers – They were more than met the eye. Weather you were a fan of Optimus Prime and the Autobots, or you were backing the Decepticon factions, there was an endless mixture of action figures that doubled as ships, planes, cars, and tanks! Here is a pic of the entire 1984 Autobot collection. Damn I miss being 6!

3. Star Wars Toys – The ultimate in intergalactic battle! You could relive all of your favorite Star Wars moments right from home! Don’t forget to get the proof of purchase labels and send them in for your very own toy rendition of The Emperor!

4. Voltron - This was a personal favorite of mine. You could grab all of the metallic cats and combine them together to create Voltron! My favorite was the black cat, he was the leader and made the torso!

5. Heman – Heman toys just rocked, that is all there is to it! There was Beast Man, Skelletor, Heman, Orca, Skunkor, and many, many more! Any action figure that comes with suction cup hands to stick him to the wall is cool in my book!

6. The Thundercats – You could control Lion-O and his crew while you battled the evil Mumm-Ra! Thunder, Thunder, Thunder, Thundercats……..oooooohhhhhh!

7. The Nintendo Entertainment System – This was the beginning of the video game revolution. Released in the spring of 1985, the NES rocked all of our socks off and it came with a freaking Robot that played with you as the second player! Games like Super Mario Brothers, Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania, Donkey Kong, Double Dragon, Final Fantasy, Gauntlet, The Legend Of Zelda, Mega Man, Metroid, Punch-Out, and endless othere titles, that remain, to this day, some of the most fun games ever created..........ahh the days where funfactor ruled!

Wow! I can't believe that you did not like G.I. Joe, but thought Thundercats were the shit. I mean, I obviously liked the Thundercats, but they did not have nearly the impact that G.I. Joe and Starwars figures did. ....Interesting.
By the way......How is OH looking this season???? LMAO
Who the fuck is OH?
OU I meant, don't know how that happend, but I think you got the picture.
finally right? link
Voltron is the shit
Dude, this gets a big "fuck-yeah" sticker for being the coolest post you've ever made, fag.
Even though I only played w/ 2 of the toys on your list (cause I'm a GIRL), it totally took me back to the 80's. Wish I'd come up w/ the idea first.
Cheers.
