Is Happieness is a Warm Gun?

I was reading about the study of happiness on Slashdot today and found the research to be interesting enough to comment on here at the blog. It seems there are many scientists around the globe that have taken up the quantification of happiness. What is happiness, what makes us happy, how long do we stay that way? These are some of the questions that the researchers are asking and some of the answers may just surprise you. Some of the more interesting points were as follows:

- Money does not make us happy
- Lottery winners returned to former levels of happiness within a year of getting the money
- Children don’t make us more happy
- People disabled in an accident are likely to become almost as happy again.
- Happiness levels are probably genetic: identical twins are usually equally happy or not happy.
- Best way to increase happiness is to socialize – more people more happy

I'm back...
but only for a posting or two...

and yes I remember Clint's GI Joes
I remember the demise of the GI Joes as well. They fought a great battle, but were no match for the microwave. Now that's happiness. Not for them, but for us. Well, that and never having to take professional registration exams again.

I am going to Philly for a business trip and staying throughout the weekend with my boys in Delaware. I figured that after 11 years, it's time to kick it with my old-school fellas!
